[Katylin enters Pete’s (a young boy the age of 9) room by floating through the wall which is connected to his room. She then hovers from the ceiling of his room prepared to do literally nothing but—]
Kaytilin: and then…she snapped mentally] You know what…I CAN’T TAKE THIS ANYMORE! *she ultimately makes herself visible again, and perches on Pete’s bed* So maybe having all of these cool amazing post-death powers and stuff, but WHAT’S EVEN THE POINT when i’m basically supposed to keep them a secret from the living?! It doesn't make sense anymore! I WANT to feel more freedom to speak outside of my own barriers, but…
Pete: *wakes up from all the commotion* *yawns* Mom…? (...) That’s not mom…
Kaytlin: …And besides, what’s even the point of enter and innocent family’s house if all i’m EVER going to do is watch over whatever they’re always up to? I’ve been doing this for TOO LONG [she’s been doing it for less than a month, what is she blabbing about?] I wish I had someone to talk to…someone who’s understand how I feel about this rather than saying [mimicry voice] “it already happened, just move on” When it’s already RIDICULOUS!...
Pete’s Mom: *quietly, but almost urgently opens her son’s room door* Pete? Are you okay? I heard— *sees Katylin* (...) Who is this?
Pete: [in a hushed voice] I don’t know mom. I really don’t.
Kaytlin: …I don’t WANT to have to succumb to these tropes anymore! I just want to have a normal life (whatever that means anymore) without having to hide myself in such UNNECESSARY security—*sees Pete’s Mom* (...) I-I’m sorry…*[hastily glides up to Pete’s Mom, hugs her tightly, and starts crying]
Pete’s Mom: [In spite of not knowing who the person who is hugging her is or how she got into her house, she somehow is able to see that this very person is in need of heavy consolation, and hugs her back.]
[And so, Pete’s Mom (who’s real name may or may not ever be mentioned sometime in the future) and Katylin had a nice cup of tea in the dining room, and Katylin explained her entire backstory]
