| “ | Dawlish is standing in Dumbledore's office when Umbridge arrives with Harry, having accompanied Cornelius Fudge, Percy Weasley and Kingsley Shacklebolt to Hogwarts. He is silent as Fudge accuses Harry of being part of an illegal organisation at the school, and as Umbridge and the Minister question Marietta Edgecombe.
When Dumbledore falsely confesses to organising the meeting that evening, and announces that he has no intention of being taken to Azkaban, Dawlish moves forward a little, his hand drifting towards his wand. He blinks foolishly when Dumbledore warns him not to attempt to bring him in by force and seems unsure what to do next. Dawlish is rendered unconscious by Dumbledore during the skirmish that follows, waking only after the Headmaster has escaped. Dawlish runs out of the office to try and catch him, unaware that Dumbledore escaped with Fawkes. |
