Harry purchases his wand at Ollivanders during his first visit to Diagon Alley. It is not the first wand he tried, but the others did not choose him.
The wand was broken in 1997 and repaired in 1998. Meanwhile, it was broken he used a 10-inch Balckthorn wand.
