J.K. Rowling's thoughts[]
“
I regret making Aunt Marge a breeder of bulldogs, as I now know them to be a non-aggressive breed. My sister owns one and he’s the most loveable, affectionate dog you could hope to meet. On the other hand, they do look grumpy, and on appearance alone seemed to suit Aunt Marge.
”
From the Story[]
She lives in a house in the country with a large garden where she breeds bulldogs. She dotes on Dudley Dursley, but is incredibly unkind to Harry. During her stay at Privet Drive just after Harry's thirteenth birthday she spends the week criticising Harry and, on her final night, she insults Harry's parents. Harry is incensed, and Marge seems to start swelling with anger when Harry shouts back at her. However, the swelling doesn't stop and she inflates like a massive balloon and drifts into the air making apoplectic popping noises.
