Mrs Arabella Figg is a batty old woman living near Harry Potter and the Dursleys. She often takes care of Harry when the Dursleys are going on a trip. She owns several cats.
Mrs Figg lives two streets away from the Dursleys. Harry stays with Mrs Figg every time the Dursleys go out; she serves him stale cake in her cabbage-smelling house and makes him look at pictures of all the cats she has ever owned.
Mrs Arabella Figg runs down Magnolia Crescent towards Harry, after his encounter with the Dementors. She shrieks at Harry not to put his wand away, revealing that she is aware of the magical world. Mrs Figg tells Harry that she is a Squib, and that she was watching over Harry with Mundungus Fletcher. She stationed her cat, Mr Tibbles, under a car just in case something happened.
