Spattergroit is a wizarding skin disease that causes the affected person to break out in unsightly blemishes and pustules, and leaves them gruesome and pockmarked.

From the Story

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Discovered in chapter 23, Christmas on the Closed Ward

A portrait of a medieval wizard Healer at St Mungo's accuses Ron of having the disease, noting the freckles on the boy's face. According to the wizard, the only cure for spattergroit is to take the liver of a toad, bind it tightly around the throat, and stand naked at the full moon in a barrel of eels' eyes.
