Xenophilius Lovegood is Luna Lovegood's father, and editor of The Quibbler. An eccentric-looking wizard, he is slightly cross-eyed and has shoulder-length white hair the texture of candyfloss.
Xenophilius attends Bill and Fleur's wedding with his daughter Luna. He wears a tasseled cap, egg-yolk yellow robes and an odd triangular symbol on a chain around his neck.
Viktor Krum tells Harry that the triangular symbol is the sign of Gellert Grindelwald, the Dark wizard defeated by Dumbledore.
Xenophilius tells Harry, Ron and Hermione the story of the Deathly Hallows. His claim that Luna is fishing for Freshwater Plimpies nearby proves to be untrue, and Xenophilius reveals that she has been taken by the Death Eaters. He attempts to turn the trio in to the Death Eaters in exchange for Luna's return, but is unsuccessful.
